29 March 2022: Snape - C
(I got back from my meeting mid-way through the fourth session of Dr Snape's evidence, so if one of you can tell me what I missed, that would be great. Haha!)
Last week we heard about how it appeared that PFC and BPL suffered from a degree of enmity between these Scottish and English cousins. Dr Foster had said while this was maybe what it looked like, the reality was of staff from both agencies regularly "getting into bed" with each other. Dr Snape did not dispel the apparent cosiness of the relationship by admitting they were even sharing "dogs". (Blink and you'd have missed that one.)
Further light was cast over the issue of self-sufficiency. It seems the method of assessing this was different on either side of Hadrian's Wall. The waters were muddied, among other things, by the "opportunistic" availability of imported commercial factor products. It seems the spectre of US blood dumping practices has done more to impact on UK citizens than exclusively the immediate disaster of passing on nasty viruses.
